Digital Desk, New Delhi. About 77 countries around the world have been hit by Omicron. So far 101 Omicron patients have been confirmed in India. Scientists are continuously studying this. But, many researchers have claimed that it is completely different from the rest of the variants of the corona and is also more infectious. Although Omicron is not overly serious. Still we need to be cautious.
Symptoms are also seen in Omicron patients as compared to Delta and other variants. The World Health Organization has declared it a variant of concern and advised to avoid it. The rate of spread of Omicron is much faster than all the strains of Corona. Because about 36 mutations have been seen in it.
Symptom of Omicron
The Omicron variant, which has spread to 77 countries, was first found in South Africa, after which it rapidly made its way. All the scientists of the world are trying to understand it. It is being told that mild symptoms are seen in its patients. But, in all the patients found so far, one symptom is common and that is “sore” in the throat. Dr Ryan Noch, CEO of Discovery Health, South Africa, says that the symptoms of Omicron patients are slightly different. Initially, almost all the patients complained of sore throat and later symptoms like nasal congestion, dry cough, muscle and lower back pain.
According to Aaj Tak news, Juliet Pulliam, director of the South African DSI-NRF Center for Excellence in Epidemiological Modeling and Analysis, has warned India about the Omicron variant. Said during an interview that, a country with a large population like India should pay attention to the hospital system and plan it in advance. Because that would be a wise move.
more dangerous than delta
According to Pulliam, Omicron continues to prey on those people who have already been corona infected. Its transmission rate is much higher than all the previous variants. Preliminary data indicates that even fully vaccinated people are becoming infected with Omicron.
Worried about India?
According to Puliam, as much orgy that Omicron spread earlier in South Africa, the same devastation is being seen in many countries as well. In such a situation, she believes that the infection of new variants in India will spread very fast.
