OP Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) under Jindal Global University (JGU) will present a truly International Law School Summit on the subject of the present and future of global legal education. The summit, the only one of its kind, will run from December 1 to 3. The summit aims to bring together more than 150 thought leaders from six continents and over 35 countries in 21 thematic sessions, eight special dialogues, two colloquiums and three keynote speeches to envision the present and future of global legal education.

The conference will be inaugurated by Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Law and Justice, Government of India. The opening ceremony also saw the keynote address of Margaret Beazley AC QC, former President, New South Wales (NSW) Court of Appeal and Governor, NSW, Australia and a special speech by Justice Gita Mittal, former Chief Justice (retd) of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court – Will be heard. The summit will culminate in the presence of eminent members of the legal profession and Indian politics. The valedictory address will be delivered by Tushar Mehta, Senior Advocate of Supreme Court of India and Solicitor General of India, and Special Address will be given by Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Law and Justice Sammit Patra.

As we enter a post-pandemic world, the demand for justice will not only expand, but will also be more complex than before, the statement said. It is very important for the leaders of legal education from around the world to come together to envision the present and future of the global. Legal education will influence the future of students, academics and nations. That said, Jindal Global Law School has always been committed to creating important dialogues with a global perspective. Hence the Global Law School Summit has been organized to create a sustainable platform for intellectual deliberations that create global impact.

The Global Law Schools Summit is conceptualized to review law and society in the face of globalization within an analytical framework – Global Legal Education – that has room for criticism, reflection and imagination. It includes more than 100 vice-chancellors, current and former deans, principals, heads, directors and other senior leaders of law schools.
